Unless you just moved to the Netherlands a few weeks/months ago, you already know that Spring is the season of the tulips everywhere in the country.

Although we have all seen the picture of the impressive tulip fields, those are not open to mass tourism. Therefore, the best place to be amazed by the national flowers is to go to Keukenhof, the largest flower garden in Europe, located in the small town of Lisse.

Going to Keukenhof is not as easy at it seems. which makes sense, as it is quite far from Amsterdam!

With public transportation, depending on where your hotel is in the city, you can count more than an hour to get there, with changes. Therefore it is a solution that should be advised only for the expert travellers who are comfortable going outside of the city on their own.

Many tours are also organized, and in all likelihood, your hotel works with a company that organizes bus trips. This is definitely the best solution for the older guests, or people who have issues speaking English. Most of the departures leave from the bus station at the back of Amsterdam Centraal, but check with your partners the possibilities for pick-up, just in case.
